What Day Is It?

Interesting day.  Yes, it’s January 20.  Yes, a new American President is being inaugurated today.  But, there is much more to this day.

Today is Tevet 22 on the Hebrew calendar.  The number 22 is tied to the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet.  Every Hebrew word in the Bible comes from 22 descriptive letters.

Twenty-two is a numeric pattern, because there are also 22 protein-building amino acids which form a vast array of proteins.  Since proteins are key components in all living cells, and a primary factor in creation, 22 is the number of creation.

The year is 2017 on most calendars in the world.  But, on the Hebrew calendar, the year is 5777.  Like the number 22, this number is also significant and reveals a story.

Five is the number of grace, while seven is the number of completion.  The year 5777, then, can be identified as grace combined with 777.  A repeating number is for emphasis.  So, the repeating number 7 is emphasizing completion during this Hebrew year.  Amazingly, the number of this Hebrew year suggests grace plus completion, completion, completion for people who know the Creator.

This means that today is not entirely about the new start which a new presidency signifies.  It is about an eternal plan, and how you and I fit into the Almighty’s divine purpose.

If we are followers of Yeshua (Jesus), we are called to be the Light of the World (Matthew 5:14).  Through grace or difficulty, we must shine.  Through new beginnings or fortuitous completions, our inner Menorahmust burn with the kind of light which reflects the ever-burning Father of Lights (James 1:17).
